You surely have heard of Billy McFarland. If you haven’t heard of him himself, you probably have heard of one of his innovations, such as Spling or Magnises.
Billy McFarland is an entrepreneur who was born in 1991. Although he is young, he is astonishingly successful. At the age of 13, he already founded his first company, which aimed at matching people who needed designers with great designers. He was born in New York City, although he was raised in a city in New Jersey.
According to The Guardian, Billy McFarland started Spling at the end of his college years. Spling is a service that changes text links into images. These graphic images are then laid out and displayed as mosaics on bulletin boards. Spling has some very big clients, such as Discovery and Universal.
But McFarland’s biggest innovation and creation yet is certainly Magnises. Magnises is a company that Billy founded in August of 2013, and has become extremely popular. It is a black card that is universal. Basically, the way it works is like this: You connect a card with the Magnises card, and then you can use the Magnises card in place of the original credit card. However, the original credit or debit card does not stop working, and you can actually use both.
Magnises has over ten thousand members. There are no limits and fees, besides for a yearly fee of two hundred and fifty dollars. The card is currently available in New York and in Washington, D.C, but there are plans to make it accessible in many more major cities in the United States, such as in Atlanta, Georgia.
Magnises is very popular among young people and millennials. This is because the perks and rewards that you can get by using the Magnises card is very appealing and is aimed and targeted to young people and their interests. Other rewards networks fail to provide rewards and perks that are popular among young people and in which young people would be interested in.
It’s also popular because it is community based and even has an actual physical place with couches and TV that clients can come and hang out there and network with each other.
